BIRNA participates in The Red Dress Exhibition, held November 29th to December 21st 2008

14 red Christmas dresses, designed especially for the exhibition by 14 of Icelands most prominent designers. The dresses are surrounded by portraits from the museum collection of women, painted by Icelands most prominent painters of the last century such as Júlíana Sveinsdóttir, Nína Tryggvadóttir and Jón Engilberts. Curator is Steinunn Helgadóttir.

The dress BIRNA presented at the exhibition will be available in silk in the Autumn/Winter 2009 collection that arrives in August 2009. Availble colors will be black, turquise and print. The colors in the print are inspired by the glacial lagoon "Jökulsárlón" that is on the south coast of Iceland.
